ISABELA | At least 5,000 new SK officials have undergone DILG training in Cauayan's Isabela Hotel & Resort.

At least 5,000 newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan leaders in this province recently attended the mandatory training conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) held at the Isabela Hotel and Resort here.

The training covered the following topics: Decentralization and local governance; History of the SK and the SK Reform Act, also known as Republic Act 10472; Meetings and resolutions; Planning and budgeting; and RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
Ma. Theresa Serbito, Cauayan City Local Government Operations Officer, said the training – mandated by the SK Reform Act and ordered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government in a January 2018 memorandum aims to prepare the elected and appointed officials for their new roles.
